While crafting innovative elementary school lesson plans that seamlessly blend music with English Language Arts (ELA), I’ve discovered a wealth of opportunities for cross-curricular collaboration. To encourage this synergy, I’m excited to share five lesson plans that music and elementary ELA teachers can utilize together.
However, these resources are just the beginning. I wholeheartedly encourage elementary school music educators to initiate dialogue with their ELA counterparts, exploring potential areas for joint lesson planning. Likewise, I urge ELA teachers to actively seek out their music colleagues, recognizing the profound ways in which music can complement and enrich academic subjects across the curriculum.
Remember, true educational excellence thrives when we break down disciplinary silos and embrace the interconnectedness of knowledge. Let’s celebrate the harmonious fusion of music and literacy, unlocking new realms of engaging, multidimensional learning for our students.

I’ll post another compilation of my lesson plans as soon as I’ve created five more! Enjoy, and please let me know if you used any of these in your classroom!
